Monster Cleaning Horsham is a small firm cleaning homes across the town and its surrounding villages, from the listed houses on The Causeway to the lanes of Mannings Heath. Most of our week is move-out cleans and hourly housework, and carpets, ovens, upholstery and team deep cleans fill the gaps. Our prices are all published: move-outs from £156, weekly cleaning at £23 an hour, and no charge for travel.
Our patch
RH12 and RH13: the town, Broadbridge Heath, Roffey, Southwater, Warnham, Slinfold and Mannings Heath, under Horsham District Council and West Sussex. The areas page sets out the round.
Three layers of housing
The oldest part is the centre around The Causeway and the Carfax: Georgian and Victorian, much of it listed, with London plane trees along the Causeway, St Mary’s Church at the end, and a market twice a week. Behind that come the interwar and postwar semis of Roffey and Littlehaven, with bay windows and stairs that turn at a half landing. The newest layer, and the one growing fastest, is the volume-builder estates at Broadbridge Heath, Wickhurst Green and Southwater, built since the 2000s. Between the oldest and newest there’s about two hours’ difference on the same job at the same price.
Stone slab roofs and deep sashes
Many of the older buildings have Horsham stone slab roofs, the local building tradition, with sash windows set deep in the walls below. The slabs are brittle, so on those houses we clean the outside glass from ground level and give the deep sashes a proper going-over from inside.
The water
Southern Water supplies Horsham from chalk at about 225 ppm. Bathrooms here take longer to clean than identical ones in soft-water areas. Screens cloud from the bottom. Taps crust at the base. Shower heads block a nozzle at a time. Scale is mineral fixed to the surface, so it needs acid descaler and time to work, and that time is in the quote from the start.
How keys move in Horsham
Horsham is a commuter town without a university, so the rental market is family houses in Roffey, Southwater and Broadbridge Heath and a flat market near the station for people working in London or at Gatwick. Almost all of it is let through agents, so a check-out key comes from a High Street office and goes back there a few hours later. That shapes more of our bookings than anything else. Handovers happen in office hours whatever the tenancy says, so a morning slot is usually right, and a Saturday only works if the tenant still has a key. It’s the first thing we ask about a move-out.
One cleaner per house
On regular cleaning we give each address one person and keep them there as long as the rota holds. Customers like it, and visits get quicker because nobody has to ask where things live. Most regular customers give us a key or have a key safe by the back door. Alarm codes are written down once and never said over the phone. When a cleaner is ill or on holiday, we ring the evening before with a named replacement or another day. Nobody turns up unannounced.
Prices in public
Move-outs are fixed by bedroom count before booking, studio £156 up to four bedrooms £425. An oven added to the move-out is a separate £31, and carpets are counted separately too. Housework costs £23 hourly on a weekly basis and £24 fortnightly; ironing is charged at £12 an hour on top of the cleaning time. Carpets start at £36 a room, rugs are £35 or £51, hobs £23 or £28, extractors £28, and a two oven AGA £143. Upholstery starts at £13 for a dining chair. Team deep cleans are charged at £26 per cleaner-hour plus £30 for kit, making a two-person, three-hour job £186, and our largest job is £498. The £67 minimum covers one off jobs only, while housework is booked in visits of three hours or longer. It’s all on the prices page, and the price we quote is the price you pay unless the job itself gets bigger.
Hours and payment
We work 8am to 7pm every day, and neither the time nor the day changes the price. Payment is by card or bank transfer.
If we get something wrong
If an inventory clerk flags something we cleaned on a move-out, ring 020 8077 6947 within 48 hours and someone will come back and redo it free, with no forms and no argument about whose fault it was. Send us the clerk’s report, as that’s by far the quickest route. Contact lists our hours, our terms carry the small print, and the services page breaks down each job.
Questions we get asked
How far from Horsham do you work?
Across RH12 and RH13: the town, Broadbridge Heath, Roffey, Southwater, Warnham, Slinfold and Mannings Heath, with no mileage charge. If you’re just outside, ring anyway.
Are your prices really fixed?
Move-out bands are fixed once the bedroom count is agreed, unless the property is very different from what was described. Other work is charged at published rates, by room, by appliance or by cleaner-hour.
Are you based in Horsham?
We work the Horsham round every week: RH12 and RH13 on one price list, seven days a week, with no travel or village charge. A person answers the booking line from 8am to 7pm.
What if something’s been missed?
If an inventory clerk raised it after a move-out clean, call us inside 48 hours and a cleaner returns to put it right at no cost. Send us their report, since complaints passed on by agents rarely name the actual item.
